Appalachian Mystique - The Lure Of The Fog
The mystery of the Appalachian Mountains just draws me in. I can't explain it, but I love it.
Approaching Clingmans Dome late one evening, I thought the weather was going to prevent any possibility of a usable photo. The late afternoon mist obscured a clear view of the mountains. Then I found myself transformed from photography mode, into experience mode. The real story came to light and the real image became apparent. This is what the Smoky Mountains were named for. In the fog of confusion, I see a beautiful land of plenty! Our ancestors located here for a reason. I would love to know what that reason was. Until then, I will gaze into the lure of the fog wondering.
